Providers are able to use Doxy.me to meet patients and carry out consultations with personalized room links, which include live chat support via either audio or video calls. The virtual waiting rooms can also be personalized with text, pictures, and video, and multiple patient participation can be regulated simultaneously.

Practitioners can track all patient check-ins and save meeting histories by recoding dates, times, and duration of sessions. Doxy.me’s analytics module helps providers to stay on top of the latest treatment trends and identify opportunities for improvement. Users can also organize peer-to-peer meetings and share room access, which allows colleagues to visit patients if they are unable. Administrators can add and remove users from the clinic account as well as upload waiting room content to improve patient engagement.

Call features

Doxy.me’s free plan includes unlimited sessions, minutes, and a personalized room URL. Providers have access to the company’s Android and iOS apps that includes low definition video. This is a good starting point for those just getting started with telemedicine.
The Professional and Clinic plans include standard or high definition video and audio only calls in addition to what is offered in the free plan.


All the features a provider needs to manage telemedicine operations is included in the free plan including a waiting room, patient queue, text chat, meeting histories, and browser notifications.

With the Professional and Clinic plans, providers also get room passcodes, the ability to edit the waiting room, and text/email notifications.


The Professional and Clinic plans offer several useful extensions to help practitioners with their work that includes photo capture, 3-way calling, screensharing, file transfers, payments, and teleconsent. Payments are provided by a Stripe integration, and patients can submit their credit card information and accept the charge all while in the waiting room or during a call.


All levels of Doxy.me service are HIPAA/PIPEDA/PHIPA compliant and are end-to-end encrypted. It stores no patient data and has a signed BAA. Doxy.me also offers free breach insurance.

The Professional plan is GDPR compliant and comes with more advanced 256-bit encryption, which is a must-have if providers have patients in either the EU or Canada. With the Clinic plan, providers can create a custom BAA and go through a custom security review.
